Question: how far from the Conference Center?  Austin Convention Center is less than 1 mile from the Embassy Suites (directions).  It's just across Lady Bird Lake (formerly Town Lake.)  You'll walk south on Congress Ave. about 4 blocks, then walk over the Ann Richards/Congress Ave. bridge.
